December Highlights

I am way behind on my blog so I am going to do a quick highlights of the past month in no particular order.  Plus, my kids liking see like the pictures over the text anyway.  

One evening, we recorded the kids and the Caudle cousins singing, "I Love to See the Temple".  Brett nicely blend all the voices together.  This recording is going to be a gift for Grandma and Grandpa Caudle. 

 

I love seeing these girls play together.  They have become good friends.  Here is Daisy doing "homeschool" with Kaeley. 

  Watched lots of Christmas movies including Garfield Christmas! I am glad my kids loved that movie as much as I did growing up.  

 

Had a special date with my Daisy girl.  We went to the Portland Ensign Christmas Concert.  We went with my parents, Ondalynn and her daughters Sydney and Julia.  Daisy's favorite part of the concert was when the ballerinas came out and danced during the songs.  She was often the first to start clapping at the end of the songs. 

Decorating Christmas cookies has always and probably will always be a tradition in the Caudle family. The kids enjoy this fun time with their cousins. 

 One of the perks of homeschooling is cheap fun outings.  The Mt. Scott Community Center has a roller skating rink.  On Wednesday's afternoon while everyone else is in school, they hold a session just for homeschooling families and cheaper than the original price.  My kids have never been roller skating so it was quiet the experience.  My friend Stephanie McMillian told me about this event.  She brought some beginner skates for my kids.  They fit my girls but didn't fit Clark so we got some skates from the center.  Clark had a really difficult time.  Another boy that was there offered to help Clark learn how to skate.  The skating rink supervisor saw how much Clark was struggling so she gave him so skates that wheels didn't roll quiet as much.  Changing the skates made a big difference and Clark was able to skate a lot more without falling down as much. 

What's Christmas without decorating Gingerbread houses?! 

 

People have been extra generous to us this year.  A church of another faith gave us a box of food! We support their church when they do community events and I have spoken many times with the leaders of the church.  They are good people and we appreciate their generous gift. 

 

 I was at the store the other day and a man came up to me and told me he found this on the ground.  He said he was going to buy someone coffee but saw me and felt he should give it to me instead.  Now...who can I help with this money?

Bowling! There is a really cool bowling place near our house.  They have a whole room designated just for kids. The room is kid friendly. The lanes were shorter and narrower, the bowling pins and balls are smaller and no gutters.  It was so much fun!  Everyone cheered for each other.  Clark beat everyone with a score of 125!

Celebrated my dad's 66th Birthday! He loves those canned peaches, Alice-Anne you know how to win the favorite daughter award!  :) Happy Birthday Dad!  You are a great dad and grandpa!  We love you!  So glad we live close so we can see you often. Daisy and Evelynn spent every minute together that they could.  So glad they are good friends.  Wish we lived closer so they could spend more time together!

Play Date PDX is a fun indoor playground. The last Wednesday of the month it's free to get in when you bring 2 can of food per child.  I got together with my sister Ondalynn, another homeschooling mom, and Fawn. It was super crowded being New Years Eve and FREE but we had fun either way.

New Year's Eve was a blast! Another reason to eat GOOD food and play games.
