Back in June 2014, Brett was to hear if he got into the Teachering Program at PSU that he applied for way back in October 2013. Surprisingly, he wasn't accepted. We were pretty confident that he would be. Interestingly enough, Brett decided that he wanted to put some previous computer programming ability to work. He applied to a computer programming academy in town. He was immediately accepted and began studying there full. This was great timing as this was summer break and didn't have to work at his current job at the elementary school. After a short few weeks of going to school, they offered him a job to work at the academy as an instructor. Even though he wasn't finished with school, they still had him work there. So for about a month a half, he went to school and worked full time. He was gone from 8:30am to about 10:30pm Monday through Friday and on Saturday from 8:30-5:30pm. It was exhausting experience for everyone. The kids missed their dad! Luckily I had two other friends, Maren and Fawn whose husbands were gone a lot too and we hung out and supported each other through it all. Now Brett is finished with school and just works. He has the swing shift and works from 3-10pm. This experience is an example that the Lord knows what's best for you. It turns out that Brett most likely would not have enjoyed working as a teacher in a public school system as much as he enjoys what he does now.
